I’ve written in a journal almost daily since I was six years old. When I was back home in Oregon the other weekend, I flipped through one from the 3rd grade. In response to the writing prompt, ā€œWhat do you want to be when you grow up?ā€, I wrote ā€œa good person.ā€ To this day, I can’t think of any better answer.

Because while I can admire someone’s accomplishments, I only respect them for their character - a thought that I’ve lately been keeping as a guidepost for myself.

(3rd grade Amelia then added ā€œ...or a physical therapistā€ but I’m just going to pretend I was wise beyond my years šŸ˜†): @francoislebeau
